Homestay Cancellation Policy
PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL: Should a cancellation become necessary prior to your arrival, we will make every attempt possible to replace your tenancy. However, if we can not procure another GUEST, your deposit will be non-refundable. However, it can be issued as a credit for a future booking.
SHORT-TERM OCCUPANCY: (For occupancies of less than a month): Should you decide to cancel your tenancy during your visit or prematurely change your departure date, we will make every attempt possible to replace your tenancy. However, if we can not procure another GUEST, you will still be responsible for the balance of our agreement. Alternatively, in the event of the procurement of a new GUEST, your cancellation payment will be prorated and gladly refunded to you. You may also assist in the procurement of a new GUEST.
LONG-TERM OCCUPANCY: (For occupancies longer than a month): A 30-day written notice or e-mail for a lease termination is required for tenancies exceeding one month. The maximum GUEST responsibility for cancelling prior to the termination of long-term occupancy is the balance of the current month and one additional month. Alternatively, in the event of the procurement of a new GUEST, your cancellation payment will be prorated and gladly refunded to you. You may also assist in the procurement of a new GUEST.
DIFFERENCE IN RENTAL RATES: In the event a new tenancy is procured for a lesser compensation than our original agreement, you will be responsible for the difference in payment. Alternatively, in the event a new tenancy is procured for a greater compensation than our original agreement, the $150 administrative fee will be waived.
LONG-TERM DISCOUNT POLICY: Long-term discounts are offered for occupancies of more than three months. However, should you commit to a long-term occupancy and decide to leave prematurely without just cause, the original contract rate will be retroactively re-established.
RELOCATION POLICY: Relocations of Homestay GUESTS are only permissible within the Homestay network and subject to availability. The same rules apply as the Short and Long Term Policies. whereby a new tenant will need to be procured first at your current location in order not to incur a penalty. However, only under extenuating circumstances, such as the failure of the Homestay HOST to fulfill their obligations or a question as to the safety of the Homestay GUEST will relocation be allowed without penalty or prejudice.
CANCELLATION FEE: All cancellations, relocations and changes in your itinerary before or during your tenancy are subject to a $150 administrative fee, which will only be waived for serious illness, circumstances beyond your control, family emergencies or death.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: The Security Deposit shall stand as security for the GUEST’S performance of all Homestay obligations provided that the GUEST complies with all terms of this lease. The security deposit shall be returned to the GUEST upon departure. The HOST will deduct and pay from the security deposit any damages sustained to the home or any other unpaid bills of the GUEST relating to the GUEST’S occupancy. Under no circumstances shall the security deposit be used to pay the last month’s rent.
MORALITY CLAUSE: Your accommodation is provided to you as a comfortable, safe living environment. The use of illegal drugs or abuse of alcohol, lewd or lascivious behavior, hostility towards roommates or HOST family, intentional damage to property, endangering the safety of others, possession of stolen property, using the home as a staging ground for illegal activities, and violation of any criminal statute of moral turpitude are unacceptable behaviors and strictly forbidden. These behaviors are grounds for immediate termination of your tenancy and any monies paid will be non-refundable.
